Built in 1757 as part of Ty Mawr Farm we have carefully designed an exeptional living space whilst retaining the character of the original structure. The building is pleasingly divided up to create comfortable and practical living areas, while maintaining some of the soaring space of an agricultural barn as well as visual allusions to its past. Decorated and furnished with a sense of pared-back luxury, there is a lovely use of different textures - limewashed stone contrasts with clean sweeps of ceiling; smooth oak contrasts with stone flags and panelling made of scaffold boards. And everywhere, ancient pegged beams make an appearance, reminding us of the building's origins. The size of this big barn reflects its importance in the landscape, and it really feels like the king of its view – an astonishingly beautiful and completely unspoilt outlook over the Usk Valley.
This luxury holiday let is great for family holidays, get-togethers, and anniversaries of all kinds, and would even make a wonderful honeymoon destination. Ty Mawr barn sleeps 2 to 10 in 4 bedrooms with zip-and-link super-king/twin beds, and 1 bedroom with a king-size bed (plus an infant and up to two well-behaved dogs). One of the bedrooms is on the ground floor. ‘Half-house’ discount of 40% available for the use of two bedrooms, sleeping up to 4, outside the school holidays. You can select this option when you book.
